Hey, at least Garfield wasn’t eating the durian fruit; those things are quite smelly and hard to stomach to some people… even Andrew Zimmern from Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods.
Onions contain a substance (N-propyl disulphide) which destroys red blood cells in the cat, causing a form of anemia called Heinz body anemia. Garlic contains a similar substance in a lesser amount. In addition, many other spices are toxic to cats in varying degrees.
Nah, rgcviper, we West coast afternoon readers are spoiled. The East coast morning crew have routinely been wiping out six or more before we ever get out of bed! ( And I for one am eternally grateful!)
I know a lot of people gripe about GoComics, but consider how much spam here would be if there were no filters. Also filters that keep all spam out would keep us out, too.

Garfield is the only cat that could eat garlic …. since he loves lasagna and pizza so much.
True though that there are some things you shouldn’t feed your cat, and I think garlic is one of them.

Wow–six spammers on a single GoComics page. I think that’s a new record.
