Change is upsetting for most people, even when it’s good in the long term. We are creatures of habit. There was a time when society was less diverse and less skills were needed be gainfully employed. This has changed at an accelerating rate and people who where once a primary part of the workforce are now in a diminished position. Building walls around a country will not hold back the progress that the rest of the world is making … will not turn back time. The younger diverse generations do not vote like the older insecure -- frightened by change -- generations do. A profile of likely voters explains much of our current status … primarily driven by fear of change and imagined loss of privilege. Unfortunately the younger generations will have to clean up the mess being made by their fearful elders.
