off to China, Lio?

A thing that usually annoys me in these comment forums is the persistently obtuse commenter who faults some element as illogical, unlikely, or impossible when the context is exaggerated, caricatured behavior (as in Luann) or pure fantasy (as in Lio). I mean, can we please suspend disbelief for the few seconds it takes to absorb these strips? BUT… Today’s strip actually bothers me at a visceral level, makes my skin crawl. I tnink it’s because I’ve seen so many sad, distressing, depressing accounts of people engaged in work or fun involving digging holes… which collapse, suffocating them. I wanted to haul Lio up and lecture him about reckless behavior. Otherhandwise, it never bothers me to see him frolicking with giant monsters, deadly animals, or supernatural beings.

Watch out, Jeffy! He’s coming for you.

@jimmjonzz, This comic bothers me at a visceral level for a whole different reason… that Lio is somewhere loose in my computer.

Carping and criticizing! Look; that boy is a success! He’s dug All the Way Down, and will be visiting whatever comic strip is printed beneath Lio in whatever print editions remain alive. What fun for a restless boy!
