Ah, but for one cat’s brave efforts . . . Well, I’m not sure what would happen, but I’m sure we don’t want to find out. Someone should really come up with some kind of holiday to commemorate said brave efforts. You know, a holiday where you put up lots of images of the brave cat to remind everybody of how he saved the world, or at least the big pink house. We should write to congress about this.
“Shoo!” “Git!” Love the expressions! :) Puck will triumph over the leaves yet. After all, he did last year. Interesting Lupin’s remark about the leaves smelling of a woodstove—I have a woodstove and that’s exactly what Autumn and falling leaves smells like. Like the dying ember of summer coming to an end, getting ready to embrace the frost and long sleep of winter.
Yum Yum shows no interest in falling leaves, but our upstairs neighbour is getting paranoid about them and vacuums the parking lot and the lawn. Paul and I suggested raking the lawn and sweeping the parking lot but he said no, that left particles of leaves behind. A nice man, but a little strange at times.
BCN favorites ? A few days ago we were discussing our favorite BCN moments. I did not chime in then, and I love them all, but the ones that jump out at me (without any spoilers, I hope): Elvis fainting in the cupboard, Elvis bravely sitting up with Bea, Trevor and Elvis obviously having exchanged cell phone numbers, Bea getting a job, and, of course, the Boys in their dark glasses, denying any knowledge of this thing called a lamp. Every BCN is perfect in its own way, but some are especially perfect.
. . . we recently loss our white cat, “Stinky”. Falling leaves were her greatest thrill, though she was never able to catch any. The squirrels and birds will certainly miss teasing her from outside her window. :’(

So when Puck was talking about it beginning yesterday, he wasn’t referring to fall, he was announcing the beginning of the end.

But how much can Puck do alone? Sooner or later he will get tired, and he will be overwhelmed. And then all is lost.

I’m remembering the “snow day” cartoon, where the BCN headline was something like “outside is gone!”

Lupin is holding an example of The Enemy Within…I hope Puck doesn’t see those leaves on the news desk!

That’s one of my favorite things about autumn, Lupin.

One of my cats, Roli Poli, likes to chase leaves as they flutter down.

love how the leaf in the last panel looks like a nose and mouth on Lupin.

I often wondered about cats season to season memory capacity

Is it possible that the brave cat isn’t Puck but is Tommy outside playing in the leaves?

Is there a professional announcer/voice over talent that can record the third panel? Maybe, Loraine Feather, she has been here before.
