Looks very much like one of the aliens on Tatooine in A New Hope.
I think I detect some Matt Groening influence. That last panel looks like Homer finally radically mutated.
I definitely see some Ray Harryhausen influence in the design. That horn especially. see the cyclopes of Colossa island. “7the Voyage of Sinbad”.
Lio is always good at making new friends and pets of the most unlikely sort. And this one even carries his backpack!
