I think itâs watchable. Iâll continue with it as long as it doesnât get too silly. There was one line near the end that just floored me. Those of you that watched it probably know the one I mean⊠âș
I loved âThe Orvilleâ. I thought it was better than Star Trek ever was and it isnât communist propaganda. And by that I mean, the characters work and have to pay for things, its not all free and they donât get food with the press of a button. I hope enough people watch to let it develop and grow.

Isnât being derivative the point of it?

While Iâm sure his fans will enjoy the show, Seth MacFarlane just doesnât make me laugh.

Wasnât MacFarlane the guy who said that nobody laughs at Looney Tune cartoons? Too much ego and not enough humor.

MacFarlane is a hack. I doubt that he has ever had an original idea, ever.
We all know where he stole the idea for Ted, donât we?

I remember a similar show back in the 80âs, a sci-fi parody called Quark. It starred Richard Benjamin and was a pretty funny takeoff on Trek.

Of course it was derivative. The first half of the show was a deliberate tribute to Star Trek.

Anything with McFarlane goes right on my must miss list.
