This was a popular theme in radio, where a plug would often get you the product as a thank-you from the manufacturer:âPut that leftover chicken in the self-defrosting Kelvinator.ââBut we donât have a self-defrosting Kelvinator.ââWe do now.â
My first car was a â65 Rambler. Coincidence, or synchronicity? I was just thinking before I got out of bed today about how, the last time I drove it on a long trip, it ran out of gas near an exit at night, but there were no gas stations, and I walked around for a couple of hours looking for one. Gradually I regained my senses and realized that it had an exhaust leak that had been trying to kill me. Thatâs the consequences of being a poor student unable to afford repairs. It was getting 200 miles per gallon of oil at the end of its life.
