I wonder where the #%*π# he learned that kind of language.

I am well into my sixties, pushing 70. For the life of me I do not understand the use of the “F” word for everything…verb, adverb, noun, pronoun, people, place, thing, group, etc. I still cringe hearing it and now it has become such a common and crude normal use of a word. Please help me understand!

Profanity has it’s place but I have always felt that it’s overuse was a sign of a person’s intellectual insecurity and inability to articulate.

Right, LINGUIST. I always thought profanity was the result of a weak mind trying to express itself.

Except, as I mention in my earlier comment, when one’s life and purpose have been extremely simplified. Then, the language often suits the environment.

You can thank Hollywood. Once they changed the rating from Vulgarity to Adult Language they started teaching our children that profanity is how all adults talk, hence they now do it.
