Until 2009, NFL players were not even on the field for the National Anthem. The Department of Defense pays $6.8 million to professional sports leagues for patriotic displays. This is part of the unintended consequence for trying to enforce patriotism.
What’s really ridiculous is that it’s the most respectful form of protest I’ve ever seen. They’re GENUFLECTING. You do that toward an ALTAR. But even THAT silent protest sends the conservative snowflakes into fits of rage. Possibly because their false orange god ORDERED them to be enraged, since he needed a distraction from his incompetence.
@J gray…yes, you have to accept the consequences of your speech. So the tiki torch Nazis and white supremacists should be prepared for the consequences of their speech, correct? And if a statue in a public space depicts a traitor and slaver, that’s also free speech with consequences. Yours are not the only rights, you know.
Well, as a “free speech absolutist” I hope you’ll come out against the owners and league attempting to quash the protests, then. And do you also believe that those who oppose the protest have the right to lie and claim the players are protesting the anthem or flag, instead of police brutality?
I wonder how Scott Stanis can consider himself a conservative and a Republican by having Carmen, obviously a Latino, in his strip. Scott, stay with your fellow conservatives and send Carmen back to Mexico. Delete her from the strip NOW, you hypocrite.

Yes, many on the left believe in free speech. Until you say something they disagree with. Then all heck breaks loose.

She’s African-American. Her people were probably here before yours.
