Guess it’s time for him to move on to Star Trek Discovery (if he or his dad is willing to pay for the network’s subscription.)Or switch over to The Orville.
Well I certainly know Star Trek and definitely know who the characters are they reference, like Dr. Beverly Crusher. Comic arcs come and go. Some will appeal to you, others won’t. What you may find uninteresting as some of you state, will certainly be the exact opposite of that to others, such as myself. I personally try not to degenerate those I don’t particular find funny because I know others will enjoy them and lets face it, you can’t please everyone all the time.
Francis is the only discerning person in this strip; Nate is sobbing melodramatically just because Mrs. Godfrey also likes Star Trek: The Next Generation, which makes him feel as if watching Star Trek: The Next Generation would now be a nefarious action, and Teddy is suavely asking for one of Nate’s hot Star Trek figurines instead of actually trying to help Nate.
That’s how I reacted one time when I was overwhelmed with deciding on whether in my next Ned Dickens selling booth I would do more selling (more customers but less material) or drawing (more material but less customers), and that was a little after a relative of ours passed away.. );

Nate’s problems seem so…..pathetic compared to many peoples. He’s crying at having a common interest in someone…..welp.

I love cultural references in comic strips! Part of the fun is feeling like I’m “in” on the joke!
