When I visit my son in Queens, NYC, I often park a mile from his home.
When my father was still alive, we would go visit him at his home in Chicago. We would have to walk some distance too, but never as much as a mile.
It is a rule: any relative I visit, must have a driveway or garage. I disowned the rest.
