At least Marigold isn’t showing off by doing the hula vertically, using each of her four legs, and maybe her tail, too, in turn… (The time when she roller skated—on four skates—for Phoebe was a “double-downer” for Phoebe [although an impressive demonstration nevertheless], because she couldn’t do it with Phoebe riding her, and the gracefulness of her performance moved Phoebe to ask if they could do something “where she didn’t feel inadequate about being a biped…”). :-)
The hula hoop is one of the best and for me most disappointing ways to discover if you have natural rhythm. With time some can develop it but sadly I will always be a bruised clutzy goof.

Phoebe’s the one doing it horizontally (i.e., in line with the horizon). Marigold is doing it vertically.

Wait until your hips come in, babe.
Then practice in the park while wearing shorts.

She could try the “Wii Fit” version, whatever that’s called in her world.

Fun for girls and boys, though unicorns do use smoke-n-mirrors.

MY wife is 64 and she still does the Hula Hoop 2-3 times a day plus rides her exercise bike around 40 mile a day while reading books.
