why would the talking stick of Nora (the Black girl) have ribbon when Miss Bliss’s talking stick ALSO has ribbon?

At least she tried …

Those are awfully big words for 4 year old kids, Miss Bliss.

Dill must have some pretty large popsicles.

Imagine the chaos if she’d told one of the kids “you now have the floor”.

Aren’t they a little young to start talking about politics?

AND -- the kids still don’t know the purpose of the talking stick. (But they are pretty.)

Talk loudly and carry a little stick.
