I still remember, how up through the 1970s, the scandal mags and “newspapers” at the supermarket checkout counters, kept pushing “Hitler still alive in South America” rumors. I think they finally stopped after it kept being pointed out that Hitler’s age would be way past 100 years. If, we really think about it, it would not really have mattered, since he clearly had no leadership or influence left. I had far stronger concerns, surviving the Vietnam war and my veteran problems.
