@NEWENGLANDAH: Remembering and honoring those who suffered during our history is not the same thing as showing disrespect to residents of countries whose leaders caused a problem. To me, it’s nice to see people of my nieces and nephews generation traveling to Japan, learning the language, and so on, but I want them to know their history, too. I am disappointed that so few of our flags are at half mast today…
I have been to Pearl Harbor twice, and have seen the oil slick still coming to the top. A young sailor said about a quart a day leaks out. Just imagine how much was in it. Brought tears to my eyes both times. Thanks Guy for your remembering, too.

Yes, Pearl Harbor was my parent’s 9-11. And my father, uncle and their pals went over there and fought Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo and won.
