My boyz love Box Day! And Box Night, and Box Weekend, and Box High Tea…. yeah, boxes. Right now, there’s a big box in the living room that’s filled with all the scrunched up/balled up wrapping paper. No fewer than 3 of the boyz have investigated by jumping in, then pulled paper out, wherein hilarity ensues. When the paper goes under the couch, back to the box they go. I fear what I shall find in the morning.
Box day is a much better name for it. It’s supposed to be the day on which the aristocracy and gentry give Christmas Boxes (presents) to the loyal peasantry. (These day, a bottle of whisky for the garbage men.)
We keep it in Australia. When I was little I didn’t understand what Christmas had to do with people punching each other for no good reason.
Love the news scroll :) I think it’s a holiday in most Commonwealth countries, certainly is here in Canada. I’m staying well away from the Boxing Day sales, my boys have enough boxes to play with already :)
I love the boys continued enthusiasm for a special cat holiday. Will there be a “Crinkled Up Paper Ball Day” next? How about a “Dangling Strings and Ribbons Day?” ;)
Boxing Day mainly seems to be a day for people to wake up at 4:00 to line up outside electronics stores, trying to score a bargain in big screen t.v.s or other devices. I think I like Box Day better.
WOW! The weather in the Great Lakes region is something! While I’m thankful the snow bands are trailing east, it’s nasty for a lot of folks! Stay bundled up, protect the animals, & keep the cocoa pot armed!
Prayers for those in the Philippines! And all the places that have weather issues! >^.,.^<
Puck really rocks that lederhosen!! But if these boxes are full of adventure, how can our Cat of Adventure be stuck at the news desk without his hat? What a dedicated reporter is our Lupin!
Thank you, Georgia! We’re having such fun! Hope you’re enjoying everything in the PNW! Happy Box Day to your wonderful personal orb and the Mega Orb that is BCN! <^.,.^<
When I woke up this morning, I could feel the weight of a cat on top of me. Something didn’t seem quite right about it though, so i reached to pet the cat (and figure out which one it was) and found that it was actually two cats (Tika and Sooti). Then I opened my eyes and saw that Pingpong and Sunny were curled up beside my pillow.
For those who might have missed it when I posted last night, here is a picture of the book my sister sent me for Christmas:

I have also added some more pictures to my Fur Babies album:
No sign of Gentleman today. I told my sister, I don’t know if it’s a good thing (he may be hiding until he feels better) or a bad thing (he went off to die in private). I put some of his favorite food under the porch and near one of his favorite napping places. Still praying for a miracle.

Wow such detail! But my eyes are not working too well yet, I first read Sir! as Siri. Glad I am on a tablet and not a phone.
