My mom used to tell my daughter (now 34 but about 7 or 8 at the time) that she was checking her eyelids for leaks. My daughter is an Aspie and took her literally. She told me just recently that it took her YEARS to figure out my mom was kidding. She was terrified of growing older and having her eyelids get so thin they tore and “leaked”. We never realized that she took it literally.

I’m not a grandfather (or a father), but that thought never occurred to me. In fact, I also wear glasses.

It’s so much fun to mess with their little minds. Even more fun when they catch on and say, “Oh, Grandpa….” It’s great to see the light bulbs go on.

I guess I have to turn in my Plugger card, no naps, no glasses and no grandchildren.
