You gotta love school pictures.

That’s one of the things I love about Watterson, his ability to show a large variety of expressons!

Didn’t anyone tell Calvin that if he keeps making those faces, his face will freeze that way forever????

Calvin knows how to contort is face more than the Mummenshanz.

I think this covers the range of my driver’s license photos.

I never could understand why Calvin had a thing about having his picture taken. I always loved being photographed as a child (I still do); what do you all suppose always made Calvin act up whenever someone tried to take HIS picture?

He does it because he knows his parents want a good picture of him. Boys his age are like that. But, in Calvin’s case, he might not grow out of it.

It’s Calvin, what do y’all expect?!

Very effective birth control method: pictures of the kid you already have. No wonder his parents never had any more kids.

Don’t u remember the Calvin episode where his mom phones his dad at his office and wants to discuss an “operation” while his dad is involved in his work? You KNOW what kind of operation she wanted to have!

MARG: This day I would have been first, but I didn’t know to write one word and had to look in my dictionairy and this took time! But tomorrow is an other day, you will see!!

I never made faces at the camera, but I always let my displeasure be known about being in the photos taken.

The world is not always fair. Even though I’m the one who smiles the most, Calvin gets more face time than I do.

As evidenced by my icon; we blonde, blue-eyed monsters never grow out of it! At 43, I still make faces whenever someone tries to take my picture. It’s good to know that some things in life remain the same.

I can sympathize with both; I never liked having my picture taken, and I always wanted a good one of my daughter, who fortunately likes having them taken! Some blonde, blue-eyed monsters do grow out of it! And I agree with Kittenpath…those are always the worst! Too bad Hobbes isn’t in them. He’s picture purr-fect!

I’ll bet Watterson enjoyed the chance to draw Calving in all these annoying little portraits.

Good morning Everyone:

One year my brother and sister decided it would be nice to have a formal portrait done of the three of us for my mom and dad’s anniversary. We went twice and had the pictures taken and in every single one I had my eyes closed. The photographer gave up on us.

I think my favorite is the third one!

This is one of my favorites… I clipped the individual frames into an animated gif… it rotates through the faces… I can post a link if anyone wants to see it…

They forgot the LAST photo; you know, the one with Calvin whimpering and rubbing his butt after Dad “patted” him “where the feathers are the finest”, as Foghorn Leghorn would say.

Calvin should release a book- 1001 Faces by Calvin!

It’s birth control, to remind them why they were too chicken to have another kid.

We have some nice studio pictures of our boys, but the most priceless ones are their school pictures, especially when things weren’t quite right. Making funny (but subtle) faces for a one pose school picture seems to be a right of passage for boys.

Middle aged now, they are still proud of them. LOL

I’ve never liked any pictures taken of me. They look just like me. Now that I’ve learned to crop, edit, enhance, smooth out graininess, I’m liking them at lot better.

Just in the moment someone makes a photo and activates the release I make a horrible face, I don’t know, why this happens!!

Thank God for Photoshop. Now you can fix just about anything you don’t like in a picture. Try it, Dad.

Bill Watterson, you are a comedic G-E-N-I-U-S!!!!! Simply awesomely detailed drawings! But I love the last one of Calvin the best because it reminds me of Macaulay Culkin’s most famous scene in one of my favorite Christmas movies, “Home Alone.”

The reason Calvin hates having his picture taken is because he has to sit still in order to do it.

And of course, you just know he can’t sit still that long!

I took a couple strips of pictures of myself when I was little, in a photo booth. One I kept in my scrapbook and the other I tore in half and gave to my Mom and Dad to put in their wallets. Mom’s half I found in a drawer. Dad’s were all in the back of his drawer except for the goofiest one I found in his wallet along with other photos and memorabilia. It still makes me smile to think he appreciated my sense of humor.

How much fun is this. I still like to make faces unexpectedly when photographed…and I’m a grandmom.

my mom didn’t think it was all that funny…
