Many years ago, one of my buddies bought an old bank building, with all the fixtures, in Hartford, Ct. and opened a great bar and restaurant called The Last National Bank.
He even bought an old armoured car that he used for publicity.
I’ve been to George Square a number of times, but not lately. My late wife who was born in England but grew up in Scotland, as a young woman, worked as a receptionist, in a large hotel facing the square. At that time the hotel was called the North British Hotel. That was in the 1950’s.
There’s a shop in the Fairhaven district of Bellingham that used to be a bank at the turn of the century. I’ve never actually been in it, but it looks nice. Lots of nice old buildings in Fairhaven.

Not true Flo; Andy borrows money everywhere else, including your purse Flo, in order to deposit it into that bank(-turned-pub)…

Idiots who threw that missile at you on the bicycle make me rethink my opposition to the death penalty.

Old bank buildings should be turned into museums. History on top of history.
