It’s not often I agree with Rat, but if that really is a liberal elitist’s nightmare, he’s right.

Far-right elitists have nightmares like that, too, except the paper is the Wall Street Journal and the magazine is the (once-) respected National Review, which this past year drank the Kool-Aid and started worshipping Drumpf. Oh, and the TV channel is Fake (formerly Fox) News.

Someone once asked if The Economist might take a week off so the rest of us could catch up.

Wonder if someone has been watching “The Good Place”? A very similar idea on there last week.

Bashing the New Yorker magazine shows a deep contempt for accurate reporting. The New Yorker fact checkers are lengendary. Those who are unfamiliar with the concept of journalistic integrity may find themselves a bit lost, however. The New Yorker opinion pieces are clearly just that. The reporting is just plain fact based.

For all those ignorant folks who have never read the New Yorker, you should. You just might learn something. Of course, since regressives already know everything, and are against learning new stuff, this idea won’t fly. But if you want to get the straight scoop, do as I do, and regularly read the New Yorker, the New York Times, the Atlantic, Scientific American, Wired, GQ, Esquire, the Economist, and multiple other newsworthy publications. Also, I listen (and donate monthly) to NPR and PRX, other good sources for factual reporting and informed opinion.

I don’t watch TV news, local, national, or CNN. If you want the straight scoop in TV news, then watch Rachel Maddow. She goes over the top sometimes, but unlike Fox, all her reporting is FACTUALLY ACCURATE, or they publish corrections. Sorry regressives, while you are entitled to your own closed-off media, but their lies and fabrications are just that. Those who believe Fox, Limbaugh, Hannity, and the rest of the regressive clowns are just getting deeply radicalized and propagandized by mental midgets making money from your ignorance.

Pastis makes a keen observation. Liberals need to read (or, more recently, watch) another source to find out what their opinions are.

As long as Roger Angell writes even one word about baseball for them, the New Yorker is worth having around. He’s a living treasure and the best baseball columnist of our time (IMHO).

What I like about nightmares is the big relieved feeling you get when you realise it wasn’t real.

It happens on The Other Side, as well, Rat. I gave up my National Review subscription in the ’80s because I could not find enough free time to keep up….

Yeah, I read a lot. I read quickly, too. I read the WSJ, but only in airports when I travel. The National Review, nope. But I used to read Reason magazine before I grew up and abandoned libertarian ideology as impractical and unethical. I also read fiction, non-fiction, and other periodicals. So the list above is just a sample. I don’t watch as much TV as others, maybe.

But to all you regressives (you know who you are) who think poor pathetic mentally ill trump is being unfairly portrayed, think again. The overwhelming number of news outlets just report trump being trump. They report on his words, his behavior. On video, or his rantings on Twitter. This is all just straight reporting folks. The propagandists don’t do that. Just a few examples should suffice, though invincible ignorance is the regressives’ stock in trade.

Lies – the media wouldn’t even call them lies for months despite the pathological and compulsive nature of them. Don’t give me crap that the democrats do it too. Not like this they don’t. And the regressives who have not entirely capitulated to the madness know it.

Racism- the regressives think Nazis are very fine people, I guess. And what about the whole birther lie. The shithole comments…he’s an unrepentant racist.

Divisiveness- it’s never been higher since the Civil War. This is another load of steaming crap trump has laid on our doorstep. His mental illness compels him to denegrate anyone who doesn’t kiss his ass. You regressives know that’s true.

Misogyny- just look at this guy, a serial predator. My goodness have the evangelical regressives have no shame? Apparently not.

Probable treason and obstruction of justice- poor pathetic trump is guilty as hell. The real evidence is overwhelming. Not to the regressives, of course.

The madness continues. The assault on fact. The assault on civility. The assault on our country from Russia. Damn right it’s disturbing.

Best part of this one is all the butt hurt liberal hypocrites getting upset. Trump jokes are ok but no way is it ok to call them out. Lol. A Big FU to you all. So tired of both sides antics.

MY most horrible nightmare would be if I miss an important episode of a popular TV show, then another, then another, then the series finale! I would end up being hopelessly uninformed and at the risk of getting my show spoiled.
