When it’s cold enough, individual flakes can reach the ground without clumping, and you can hear an almost musical sound of millions of tiny snowflakes landing with a tiny tink. Almost magical (if there were any such thing as magic).
I love the rare oppertunity to walk out in the snowfall in the middle of the night. Taking in the smell and taste of a cold winter’s snow (yes, to me there is a scent to falling snow) is one of my favorite – if not my absolute favorite – experiences.
I have been known to do this with my mom, my sister, my daughter. The men in the family, not so much. And in case anyone wondered. My sister, mom, daughter and I did more shoveling of snow than the men.
We had the first snow in 20 or more years this December, about 2 inches, took a lot of pictures. By noon it was almost all gone. Live like 200 miles south of the border.

They’re not living in a city that never sleeps. That being said, it’s an awesome sight.

I hate living in the snow.
But, i do have found memories if taking walks when it was snowing and listening to the sound of fresh squeaky snow.

That was me when it snowed in Baton Rouge. It was 4am, but I went outside and took pictures.
