I picked up a bunch of early 20s kids wanting to go to our Florida beaches. I drove a bunch of them down to Pensacola and told them to keep going south on Davis Highway and it would end at Pensacola Bay.
They were thrilled. I bought them hamburgers too, even asked if the emotional support dog needed anything. The human thanked me but explained that was what was in his back pack, dog food. Same with the other one who had a couple of Australian flying squirrels.
I figured disappointment lay ahead but not on my account.

I get a lot of inquiries, this time of year, from friends, relatives, and people I don’t even know, about room availability at Casa Linguist
At least, – unlike when I lived in Arizona and Florida, – I’m far enough away and in another country, so folks don’t just “drop in” unannounced !

He’s an old hippie
And he don’t know what to do
Should he hang on to the old
Should he grab on to the new
He’s an old hippie
