Just yesterday, when I looked in the mirror, I realized that I had put my turtleneck shirt on backwards. However, I have never put anything on inside out.
David 42 mentioned shoes. When I was in nursing school long ago, we still wore white uniforms and white nursing shoes. I had 2 pairs of shoes so that I could always have one pair polished and looking good in case something unwanted ended up on a shoe during the shift. They looked similar but weren’t identical. Since I had to leave early in the morning, and my husband worked nights and slept late, I dressed in the dark. The first day of orientation for clinicals at a hospital, I discovered about halfway through the day that I had on one shoe from one type and the other shoe from the other type! I thought they’d really want me working in their hospital if I couldn’t even dress myself! But I doubt that anyone noticed. After that, though, I made sure the shoes stayed in separate parts of the closet!

My mother always said that it was bad luck to take it off to put it the right way round.

Considering some clothing, it is hard to tell whether or not it is on inside or outside out.

So long as it’s not your shoes, why worry about it?

I guess I’m not old enough yet, I only put something on wrong about 3 times a year. I’m 76, so I may yet get there.
