Maybe he would have gotten off if he called it “Ride Share”

He probably used one of those hacked versions, where every car you try to steal instantly turns into a smoking heap…

Is this a minimum-security joint? What kind of prison has reading lamps over the bunks? Where are the nightstands with doilies?

Funny how those semantics can get you in trouble…

This makes me think of my new favorite brand of crazy: sovereign citizens.

If you didn’t know, sovereign citizens hold two contradictory delusions at the same time: 1) that there are “magic words” that mean you aren’t subject to any law you don’t like, and 2) that when these “magic words” don’t work, the cops and courts are part of a conspiracy to deny the sovereign citizen’s rights.

Seems like I remember a Non Sequitur with the same scene only the line was this was not the gated community he was looking for.
