A well-done character in the arts (movie, theater, literature) is one brought to life and that people can feel for. Newspaper comics have short character arcs. Mr. Trudeau showed (and continues to show) his mastery by his character creation and development, supplemented by great drawings working within these limitations.

I’ve heard of comedians “dying on stage” but Andy’s taking it to another level.
