Sheesh, I hate it when what are supposed to be the funnies turn into melancholy and pathos. I am reminded of when Charlie Brown stood alone on a baseball mound and said “None of my friends like me! I have not a single true friend. Why WORLD, why?” And then in the last frame Snoopy comes and hugs his leg. Charlie says “Correction, one true pal.”
My oldest son died in early January. I feel the same way that I imagine Louie feels when I walk through the dining room and see my son’s stuff on and around the table. I keep thinking maybe he’ll come back for it. I wish I could have the simple optimism that Louie has.

Look for the ski report from Sierra Nevada, Spain. One skilift station under 8 metres of snow

This reminds me of the ending of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman.

To feel better, they evaporate, go up in the air, and form lovely white clouds.

I pretty much thought the snowmen were evil the whole time. Kinda glad they are gone for the season. Louie is so goodhearted. all the time.
