People have a need to feel useful, most of the time that goes unfilled.

I can honestly say that I’ve never even thought about taking credit for somebody liking a band, or a song, or a movie, or a book, or a something. It’s kinda the other way; I’m always choosy about telling people about something cool and never tell the people who are going to gripe at you for the rest of their lives if they don’t like that restaurant. I do remember whomever turned me onto something I ended up loving (my kid turned me onto Carbon Leaf, the friend who turned me onto the Monday-only $4.99 popcorn shrimp special at the Ocean View), but I don’t keep track of whom I told about what and nobody I know seems to, either.

Be careful, driving around looking for something to keep “the crazy at bay” in Nodak might backfire.

I have lived both these moments (someone demanding I say they got me into a band AND realizing I’ve been alone with my own thoughts too long!) so many times! Love this!
