I know that certain countries are facing a wide range of terrible, seemingly unsolvable problems, both from within their borders, and without. BUT…we still have folks within our borders that are devoted to the common good, people who still believe that “a rising tide lifts all boats”. People who believe in the rule of law, and the sanctity of all life.
Those people still have power! WE still have power!
True, there’s no overnight solution…but we can all still VOTE! We can run for office ourselves, or find someone we trust to represent us, and get behind them, and help them run for office, and help them WIN.
Running away, or moving out of the country because certain people are elected—that’s a tempting solution, but all it really means is that there’s one LESS person available to help the community change. And it means another small victory for those who would divide and conquer.
So…FIGHT for your country! FIGHT to make things better!
Don’t complain and give up…work together and STAND UP!
On the way to the Outer Rim planet of Tatooine to be part of the slave population living in Mos Espa, and slaves have chips implanted into their bodies that will explode if they attempt to leave.
My first reaction to today’s strip was an ironic “can’t say I blame him” but the comments I read today really got me thinking. Just the fact that we are all able to express are opinions – one way or the other – goes to show just how lucky we are.
Life sure is boring down here on Earth,It’s all full of work and no thanks,The rich folks get richer and the poor still are poor and the middle class works for the banks,So beam me up Scotty, Oh beam me up Scotty, life’s full of troubles below,Beam me up Scotty, Oh beam me up Scotty, I’d like to get up and go.
My wife left me Thursday, she took my new car, she left me the kids and the bills,Let’s swing to a planet new some distant star, you could cure all of my ills.Beam me up Scotty, Oh beam me up Scotty, life’s full of troubles below,Beam me up Scotty, Oh beam me up Scotty, I’d like to get up and go.
I realize the Enterprise could civilize the savage beast that beats within my heart and calm me down.Talk to Spock, tell Captain Kirk I’ll do my work, oh please depot me, won’t teleport me up off the ground.Beam me up Scotty, Oh beam me up Scotty, life’s full of troubles below, (SOUNDS OF BEAMING)Beam me up Scotty, Oh beam me up Scotty, life’s full of troubles below,Beam me up Scotty, beam me up Scott…(More beaming sounds)
I don’t know if children still read the comic pages but if they do you have done a disservice to them. Showing a child surviving climbing through power lines may entice them to try the same thing.

He made it past the power lines without being electrocuted, so he should be able to go wherever he wants.

Of course, a time machine could also probably solve Lio’s little problem……..

Giving up isn’t the way to go. Though some of us feel that way.

It’s nice to have friends in High Places, I guess. I wouldn’t really know, though, never having been there, never abducted nor probed….
