Do what they do (or at least used to) in Michigan prep baseball to counter limited daylight on unlit fields and start each plate appearance with a 1-1 count. But, yeah, Plods with Beer is right: MLB wants to keep those merch and concessions sales going for as long as they can.
I used to love baseball, but the strikes soured me forever, especially the one in 1994. Now, I don’t care how long or short a game is, because I won’t be watching it. The heck with it and the heck with the overpaid children in adult bodies.
