40 tons per rocket? How many of those — and how long and at what cost — would it take to haul away just one landfill? And where would you fire them to? 800 miles isn’t all that far.
Considering the actual-time frame of this comic? Yeah, 40-U.S.-tons would probably be quite a load. Roughly 28½-yards, compressed. (Just a “hair”-more than 14 of the 2-yd. residential dumpsters, for comparison.) I’d venture to say with todays’ standard trucks? That’s maybe a half-loaded compartment for one? And about one-“heaping-full” bucket, on the normal-sized steel-wheeled tamper/loader/pusher used at the landfill…
Over here, there are rumors our industry pays rich guys with dark sunglasses who don’t ask any further questions to take care of special waste. Way cheaper.

Saturday Night Live got more laughs with their Lawn-a-pult; and that had a much shorter range.

Shades of “Bill The Galactic Hero” by Harrison, a sci-fi classic.

Sure! Let’s trash space like we’ve trashed the oceans. Imagine aliens from another planet finding our trash.

Cuba, and they’d probably thank us for it considering the crap their ‘benevolent’ commie dictators feed them now.
