So somebodyâs been keeping a housing unit âemptyâ for three years. The conspiracy has definitely infiltrated the nuts and bolts level of government.
Someone has been giving fake food shortage reports on government stationery. And someone has been fiddling with housing assignments. At least some of this subterfuge seems to be with the intent of removing Jackrabbit from office. There was a plan in place that required Foxworthyâs aid. When he threatened to spill the beans esrly, that plan was scuttled, links in it erased, and Foxworthy set up to take the blame. I canât wait to see why.
Thereâs no real food shortage, but the food hasnât been fresh for six or seven years. Someone with connections apparently got tired of shelf meat.
We know that recently mutated Topsiders are given a âwitness protectionâ treatment to conceal their former Topsiderness, such as Flask and Linda. Maybe there are former Topsiders concealed in the cityâs planning agencies, who werenât joking about wanting to eat mutants before they themselves were mutated. They may still consider themselves superior and more human than the âanimalsâ who were mutants from the beginning of the End, and entitled to eat them. They may maintain contact with other former Topsiders as a secret society preying on the citizens, and maybe some form of contact with Topsiders outside Endtown.
Lindaâs ânightmareâ where she remained loyal to the Topsider commander indicates how willing she is to obey them. She could easily be in on such a conspiracy. That scene seemed to have no relevance to the other events at the time, but would make sense as a foreshadowing of a slaughter racket run by former Topsiders.
Looks like this is an upper level conspiracy. Right under Jacobs cute little bunny nose. All records are up there are under his control. Jacob is a pawn in this game. Now how much will they listen to the beat cops of EndtownâŠ..
Woah, apartment number one wasnât assigned a new occupant when Wilf Weasel died three years ago, so apparently thereâs a long term plan in place. Does this mean that Wilfâs apartment has been used as a butcher shop for all that time? Longer? What else might it have been used for?
Who, in the City Affairs offices, is responsible for handing out death certificates, and housing assignments? This could be big! This could go all the way to the middle!
It just struck me that the current story is the only one I can think of that doesnât feature one or two central characters. Rather itâs about the whole of Endtown and features many characters each of whom get their two minutes of fame before passing on. We need a central character to step in and bring all this to a conclusion, possibly Walt, Marx, or some other unknown.
In the Milk Trial era, Aaron Marx fixed things so that the council would be dissolved and Jacob Jackrabbit would become the mayor with full powers of authority. Marx hated having to do it, but he knew Jackrabbit was the leader Endtown had to have, for its survival. He knew this because he could foresee all of the possible alternate futures. Something was going to happen that would be fatal to the colony unless there was a decisive leader in place to avert the disaster. So, weâre talking about something very big about to happen.Jacob Jackrabbit is not a shadowy part of a conspiracy â heâs the one whoâll make it his mission not to let the conspiracy win.
Marx did seem to come out of nowhere and he Did seem to act lots different after the milk trial. This comic has been a very diverse set of tales around the theme of dystopia. But how could it be anything else being after the greatest shake up that that Ever happened. Marx could be anyone.
What about the rats? Becoming paranoid about being the bottom of the food chain. Being the armee, moping up the carcasses. Where did the dead wolfes end up? buried or maybeâŠ

Kind of off the mark, butâŠwell, âCooper, who is also called Hooper,â reminds me of âSaul, who is also called Paul.â (Acts.)

A housing unit in Endtown being vacant for 3 years? That alone would smell rotten even if the cellar was empty. talk about premium real estate⊠;-)

Looks like some extreme detective work is called for, led by none other than Moffatt, P.I. âŠg.
