It turns out that dogs actually are smarter than cats. According to recent studies, they have somewhere along twice the number of neurons cats have. Apparently the act of socialising and interacting with humans requires a lot of brain power. I know, I was surprised too.
All our cats were trained to shake hands. However, they learned about the treat at the end, so when they wants treats, they lift the paw to shake. They also know a lot of other things, but mostly, how to train us humans.
