Well, he will have a spare in case he mislays one.
This year my mother who has Alzheimer’s is getting an electric singing tea kettle. Hopefully, it will keep her from boiling coffee water on the gas stove. She has boiled pans dry and ruined a stovetop tea kettle as well by leaving them ont the burner tool long. . It should be a lot safer for her.
With luck, they’ll also run into Clovia’s Aunt Judy and Uncle Gideon, her Aunt Hope and Uncle Corky, and her brother and sister-in-law Chipper and Amy!
The TV audio headset was purchased on Dec. 8 by Gertie. Annie is gone, Brenda Starr is ending at the end of the year. If the whole family shows up with a nice gift for Walt, I’m afraid that might signal the end here, either for Walt or the whole strip.
I certainly hope Jim has no idea of closing the strip. I would still like to see Jim send Walt to the old Comic Strip characters retirement home. There, Walt could ‘live on’ in the strip indefinitely.
Last I checked - the Tribune was NOT doing well in bankruptcy court. I wonder if that is one of the reasons why Brenda Starr is wrapping up production? I can’t help but wonder if this might spell the beginning of the end for ALL of the Tribune comics. If so, I’m on the bandwagon for sending Walt to the old comics home - where he can now keep company with Annie, Brenda and Cathy, among others.
Of course, what would be grand would be if, before wrapping up the strip, the author could touch base with some of Gasoline Alley’s fabulous past.
I would go for reprinting some of Gasoline Alley’s classic strips from the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, etc.!
Nothing wrong with having more than one bathrobe to wear. In fact, it gives you one to wear while the other is in the laundry basket, rather than having to be sure every time to get it washed RIGHT AWAY.

They could suggest Mom get Gramps a set of amplifying headphones for the TV?

I’m ready to see how Rover, Hoogy and Boog prepare for the holidays. Also, Christmas in the junk yard with Joel and Rufus would be a hoot!!
