In all fairness, Samâs reaction is probably a more realistic one to having a total stranger pick up your wallet and then turn up at your house expecting a dateâŚ
Itâs a good thing this is only a flashback, back then I would have told Sedine sheâs too good for him! Seriously, Sam is just being mean, sure Sedine is being a bit stalker-ish, but that doesnât excuse his behavior.
Seems Sam is beginning to get a clue. Recalling his ill-temper at punting sweet lilâ Sedine from his doorway, Sam realizes he wasnât so wonderful. Music can help mend fences, Sam. Try Irving Berlinâs âThey Say Itâs Wonderful,â as sung by Johnny Hartman, accompanied by John Coltrane. Trust me on this one.
Wouldnât it be wonderful if we could all share our dreams and visions like that?
On second thought I take that back. It would be horrible beyond description, just like one of Aesopâs fables. (Momus and the Gods: â⌠he criticized man for not having been given a window into his heart so that his neighbor could see what he was planning.â) The implications were so terrifying to the gods it got Momus bounced out of Olympus. He later went on to become the worldâs first theater critic, which got him hanged when he panned Aristophanesâ âLysistrataâ as being âtoo girly.â

The Sedine in Sedineâs mind is taller than the one left behind.
Well, drawn to the left and kicked in the behind, but full information wasnât very poetic.

Note the âMirroredâ composition of todayâs two panels.
Nicely played, Bea R. & Company.
Nicely played. â¨AnyFace almost 7 years ago
Sedine has a definite âCowboy Bebopâ/âRadical Edwardâ vibe while getting the bootless boot in Panel #2. â¨

Sam is still holding his drink. Is he finally going to sip it, or has it been contributing to his version.

Well, at least he learned the most important fact about her straight off! ;p

Might have been a rough go Sam, but you won the prize.

TOTALLY CALLED IT!!! I new heâd ask her to leave, and he did.

After seeing both versions together, Iâm starting to think Sam is preferring Sedineâs version better. You can see the guilt in his eyes.
Truth is harsher than fiction.

That is the boy his parents raised? Oh, yeah⌠Those dolls did wonders for him.

Same planet, different worlds. P.S. Love Ellieâs starry eyes in the first panel.

The weight of Ellie + the barefoot drop kick of Sam MUST = pain on Sams end.

OK, come to think of it, Sedine expressed a wish to go out, and Sam basically complied⌠;p
