Actually this statistic is either wrong or too high as one might expect. There are a lot of us that (well I used to) work weekends, and sometimes you were sick then. That means that something less than 20% of sick days should be taken by each weekday.
Actually 35% of all sick days are taken on a Monday. And this is not always a case of malfeasance. A person who is feeling only slightly worse than yesterday who went to work yesterday is less likely to call in sick then someone who spent yesterday relaxing at home. That is to say, they are more likely to go to work sick if they worked the day before since the difference does not seem to justify a change in behavior.

If that statistic is true, it’s meaningless. Monday and Friday are 40% of the work week.
But pardon me for being pragmatic.

Did you know that the plural noun ‘comic strips’ requires the helping verb ‘are’ to be grammatically correct?

Do you know about 60% of the artwork in most comics aren’t good enough for a Rubens? (not this one, though, it’s good for everything)

Scott Adams used this idea before. http://dilbert.com/search_results?terms=40%25+Sick

This strip would have been better or more amusing if the “Think about it.” in panel five had been put as the last line in panel one.

The first day of Spring was March 20th. Has there not been a nice day of weather in Michigan in all that time?
