I remember that state. My tongue and my eyes were still on holiday and hogging the bar all by themselves. My brain, being the designated driver, was sober. I could hear and think clearly but communicating was out of the way.
I’ve had two down-the-throat checks. First one, I woke up during the procedure, went back down and woke up almost immediately afterward and was asking questions. The doctor was very surprised. The second time, I didn’t wake up during and afterward was convinced that the doctor hadn’t been in to talk to me (she had); didn’t know where my husband was (he was getting the car); or how I got dressed (I dressed myself.) Interesting stuff, anesthesia.
In 2014 I had a pain in my left thigh a week later I was under a desk installing a computer cable. When I stood up I almost passed out and was short of breath I drove to the emergency room and was in triage within twenty minutes. The tests showed a Deep Vein Thrombosis and Bi lateral Pulmonary Embolisms. Later the cardiologist I went to said he couldn’t understand how I was still here as the embolisms in my lungs were almost an inch long.

This guy is too young to have had a couple of serious medical issues. Might be time for a lifestyle change.

I wanted to come back to this day’s strip to thank you for the visual of exactly how it feels coming out of anesthesia after surgery. For me, anyway.
