Thank you to all who replied to my comment yesterday, whether is was favorable or not. I am 72 & have been reading Nancy longer than some of you have been alive. First, take a look at the pictures of Nancy and Sluggo. The expressions are very bland. Aunt Fritzi looks nothing like her formal self except maybe for the hair. And where are Phil and Sluggo’s adopted uncles? Will we ever see them? I have thought of leaving this strip but I view it hoping it will get better. Bushmiller was the best and Guy did a good job with it. I guess Olivia James is new to this and is trying to put out a good strip. To those of you who like it, keep enjoying it. I will still view it but will not comment about it. I hope this explains my comment. Have a good life everyone. Take care & be safe.
Note to MMM, RI, and others who I have been recently communicating with: I guess I may as well join your Insiders club. Until a few minutes ago, I only subscribed to four comics…Mutt & Jeff, Dick Tracy, and the two Nancys. Didn’t seem worth it to join for that. I’m starting to go through the list and there are approximately eight billion comics to choose from. And I’m only up to the B’s. Any recommendations since we seem to think somewhat alike? Thanks!
Note the “3” and the “16 – 4” on the whiteboard again; we’ve seen it in two previous strips. Someone suggested the “3” was referring to the “3 rocks” that Ernie Bushmiller always used, which sounds like a good theory to me.
I don’t know why Nancy changed, thought it was just a temporary thing, but looks like it’s here to stay. I don’t like the concept, not funny like before. If it continues, I will only read the classic Nancy. The character drawings are horrible.
I’ve given the new Nancy a chance, but now mourn the loss of Nancy. What this new abomination is, I don’t know…but it sure isn’t the Nancy that I’ve followed all these many years. RIP, Nancy.
So, with enough time spent in robotics class, Nancy eventually secretly builds her ten foot tall battle droid.
The day she turns the droid on, it breaks out of school and goes stomping down the street until it comes to a house with a garden. It burns the garden to ash. The robot then continues to burn every single garden it comes across.
It takes the combined force’s of the Army, the Air Force, and extensive rereading of old Jack “King” Kirby comic books to bring the robot down.
After thorough reverse engineering, the truth comes out. As the flash news site reports, the robot was programmed to “Destroy all humus.”

A little throwback to the “Fritzi Ricardo” look of the 1950s.

Time for Fritzi to think quick.

“Your standards for me are too high.” Somewhere, Ernie Bushmiller is smiling in approval.

I did smile for this one. I understood what Nancy meant. She finds herself inadequate to the task put forward.

The perspective in the third panel is all wrong. That floor slopes down from the door.

Nancy angrily slams her laptop shut.
