EVERYONE! Yesterday was a momentous day for Big Nate. The first strip released January 7, 1991. You’ll never guess what that means yesterday was… the TEN-THOUSAND DAY ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST STRIP! That’s right! Big Nate is 10000 days old!
I am so sorry for not making a comment the day of… for some reason, I thought the strip began on Jan. 8 (instead of 7, when it actually began), which would have made today the 10000-day spectacular. I have known this information for months and have been very excited to inform you all, and I’m sorry I missed the anniversary (honest mistake), but I still think we can celebrate 10000 days of this wonderful strip.
TEN THOUSAND DAYS! UNBELIEVABLE! This is a massive accomplishment for Mr. Peirce, and I hope that he can be as pumped about this as I am. This strip is amazing, and to be around to celebrate the 10000th day (technically 10001st but give me a break I tried my best fellas) is so cool. Happy 10000-day-anniversary, Big Nate!
(Maybe in certain time zones it is still the 25th, in which case, please have fun celebrating the true anniversary.)
Nate is a victim of his own stupidity. Anything resembling studying gives him nightmares, but color-coded flash cards are hard core study aids, so, between the both of them, he’s facing thermonuclear meltdown of his lil pea brain.
A bit off-topic, here, but I thought I’d share this:
Among my “notifications” today was a reply from bignate — the name Lincoln Peirce goes by when he posts here. Weird thing is that the post is from “1 year ago”. So why did I get a “notification” about it today?
Also, I notice that now when a “creator” posts on GoComics, their post appears in a lightly shaded field.
