Why does it matter if Ellie isn’t selling one particular type of phone, as long as she’s selling enough of the other products to turn a profit, also don’t chain stores normally shift unsold merchandise of a certain type to a store where they are selling well? I hope I didn’t give away the resolution…
If it’s an independent phone store (and it must be, if she sells different brands, as evidenced by Panel One of Saturday, May 19th’s comic), what right does he have to threaten her job for not selling his junk? She can sell whatever she likes.
Well his corporation would own that store, then. It’s possible the different names of phones are just all different units of the same brand, rather than all different brands.
Great detail in #2 and love El’s face in #4. I so glad El has a backbone. I guess I should have noticed her willingness to fight during the Clo-Chi episode when she dove in the house to throw him out. The girl has spunk! And I don’t think she is finished yet. The CEO is in trouble here and doesn’t realize it yet. KEEP the security video El, he can’t legally fire you now, he crossed the line too many times: admitting fraud, calling you a name, threatening you…
Bea, no one is roasting you and comments by NewPatriot or me and pretty much everyone else, are not criticisms of your art or humor or story line. What you are doing is awesome and fun, trust me, we all know that and love you for it. This is the best comic most of us have seen in our lives. Some of us love to “roast” the characters like the CEO and make fun of “them”. We know it is a comic strip and not part of reality but we love to chat and BS,. Logical flaws are okay, that is what makes it fun for us. If it was perfect and too realistic, most of us wouldn’t bother reading it. So as MDMom says “you go girl” Make us Proud!

If they’re new and terrible how do you make 70% of your profit off them? Is the CEO going senile?

As CEO guy starts to collapse from a heart attack, Ellie tries to grab him, but only gets a hold of his wig—which comes off.
By message from the hospital, Ellie learns her job is secure. As long as she never mentions that wig.
And still later we learn it was his mom’s idea.

“Dross” must be one of those Knightville-specific words.
Seems everyone in town is hep to it. ✨Vilyehm over 6 years ago
Variable length first finger. We do not need to know if that magical power also pertains to the middle finger.

Wow. Ellie’s got a backbone! However, I get the sneaking suspicion Hubbs is still around somewhere close, so… ?

I feel like some sort of horrible karmic retribution will be awaiting him if he fires her.

So dross is actually a word and another way to say rubbish. How did she even fit that correctly in conversation?

Nice work on Ellie’s “angry face,” Ms. Bea…

I have to recognize Ellie, she fights for what she thinks is right… even if some of those ideas are silly.

Dross: Slag skimmed off of the top. Sounds like any premium phone sales plan.

In panel 4, I can’t help but hear Ellie’s voice go down about 1-1/2 octaves and be accompanied by strange resonances.

Uh, oh, Mr. CEO.
Ellie’s on attack mode, and as some of the commenters had said, Hubbs doesn’t seem to have gone too far.
It’s Hubbs to become the White Knight!
Ellie transforms into “Super Ellie” in a magical transformation sequence!
Either way, Mr. CEO is doomed.

She’s sounding like a Power Ranger, only way less cheesy.
