My studio is a sunroom. Lots of windows. Under certain circumstances, FedEx’s landing pattern at our local airport changes slightly and puts the planes directly between my house and the sun. The room falls into shadow for just an instant. Very disconcerting.
try being on an military airbase. I used to belong to a women’s chapel group and conversations came to a complete stop whenever there was a take-off, landing or low pass. No one complained because it could easily be one of the husband of one of the gals up there.
Shadows weren’t much of an issue, they went by so fast.
I live just off an interstate that the Navy uses for training with helicopters and on one of the flight paths to the local airport. It’s a common thing for me to see plane shadows. Saucy (the dog who donated my screen name) used to bark at and chase the helicopters.

There is a small airport between where I live and where I work
It’s far enough east of the road I take that I don’t really get all that close to it, but I see the planes taking off and landing sometimes
It is odd to see them so close to the ground

Could be worse. You could be riding your bike on an abandoned runway and suddenly see a Boeing 767 approaching…

It’s neat seeing cloud shadows moving across mountains or fields. Plane shadows, though, a little scary.
