Scott Stantis continues to confuse PROgressive views with Marxism in a way that demonstrates a failure to understand the most basic aspects of political ideologies. I’ll try to help with a brief summary of economic philosophies:
CONservative Feudalism (laissez-faire deregulation): Right wing extremism
Laissez-faire economic deregulation. Micromanage personal morals but unregulated economic anarchy.
Loves private investment and corporate administrators; despises, abuses, dominates and oppresses labor.
Does not seek equality of opportunity or outcomes; perceives equality as incompatible with liberty.
Seeks two-tiered class system where elites dominate subservient class.
Sees equality and liberty as incompatible: Exalts liberty (in name only); denounces equality.
Communism/Socialism/Marxism: Left wing extremism
Government owns and micromanages productive resources.
Loves labor; despises capital investment and business administration.
Seeks equality of OUTCOMES.
Sees equality and liberty as incompatible: Exalts equality; denounces liberty.
PROgressivism / Liberalism: Balance between the extremes
Entrepreneurial private sector of free enterprise, with infinite business decisions made within a framework of regulatory protections to prevent harming others such as workers, consumers and the common infrastructure and environment shared with others.
Games where the goal is group success instead of one player winning are actually pretty common now.
There used to be a computer game called “M.U.L.E.” where players had the dual goal of being the most successful player AND the success of the colony as a whole.
I’m not sure what Stantis point is here, though. You’d think it would occur to him that Monopoly transferred to the real world would be totally horrible. One person winds up with all the money. No one else has any at all.
OK, that’s where this philosophy loses me: “…and no one is exceptional.” Absolutely antithetical to the human spirit. Loathsome. There are other problems with it, but that one nauseates me.
And in defense of the ‘toon: I’m betting this is a good distillation of the understanding of Marxism by the common man. Or by those wanting to take over the common man.

If everyone is exceptional then nobody is. You see that mentioned in “The Incredibles”. It also had a nice deep jab at corporate psychology.
