Good question. Why did he leaves Hobbes?

It’s like that with practically every family member.

Perhaps Calvin will one day decide he likes you better from a much further distance. And he won’t forget to take Hobbes.

One of the best, most accurate lines ever- I have never forgotten dad’s line here :).

And before anyone screams “child abuse,” please. There isn’t a parent in the world who hasn’t felt that way at one time or another!

Know the feeling well. But sometimes a virtual strangling has to suffice.

The kid is innocent this time. He thought he was with mom. He’s confused and angry too.

In 3rd panel, Hobbes and Mom have the same expression.

It is amazingly easy to get separated. My kiddo is 10 and fairly responsible. We were at a hotel recently and I told her I would go start packing our room while she finished eating breakfast. Little did I know that she didn’t remember our room number. When I came back down, she had disappeared (she was looking for me, but she wasn’t very effective at it). 15 frantic minutes later, we re-connected.

@TO ALL, I could be wrong, But I have never “Felt that way” as one poster said, The worry, the despair of losing a child, and other moments of anguish would override any anger and/or irrational feelings, Granted one time my 8 y/o child was left asleep in a school bus and taken to the bus yard and left there, The driver, I never knew who it was, and that was good (For him/her) after several calls to dispatch, to the school to someone else until they discover what had happened, My wife was going postal waiting at home and me at the drop point pegged to the pay phone, (No cell phones back then) finally a small shuttle van dropped our son at home and it was dark by then, Worst school day i can remember in my life, don’t wish it to no one! Pax to all
