A nephew (by marriage) is a bananaro and has a large finca ( farm ) near us. He will frequently drop by the house with an entire stalk of ‘verdes’ ( green plantains ), another of ‘maduras’ ( yellow, sweet plantains) and a full carton of bananas.
Much as I love bananas and plantains that’s way more than my wife and I could ever eat. Fortunately, we have one son and his wife and 2 young kids living downstairs from us, one of my wife’s sisters next door, and three of her brothers living in the house next door to her. Nothing goes to waste ! We also save a share for the other son , his wife and two boys, who live on the other side of town.
One thing I have learned about the people here…. folks may not have a lot of money but everyone shares with their family and neighbors whatever abundance they do have.
My father found a mysterious box of pancakes in his trunk one time. We were aware of the old joke about a trunk-load in the attic, but he claimed not to be that one.
I parked my car in San Francisco and forgot to roll up the windows and left my accordion on the front seat. When I got back to my car, there were 3 accordions on the front seat.

That’ll happen with zucchini, for sure, and I used to do it with tomatos

I am not so sure I would eat or use them. I would be highly suspicious of any food left in your car in today’s trumpmerica

The only time Vermonters lock their cars is zucchini season, or you come back to find too much to eat!

Got a nice pair of shoes at Costco that someone left on my van roof. Left them there all afternoon. No one stole them and the owner never came back.
