They sound like my Kodiaks. I glued patches on them to keep them going for about ten years.

My best work boots (provided by work) were all that plus electrical hazard, zone traction, clog resistant, trip guard, and INSULATED!! They have a composite toe-lighter weight and won’t set off metal detectors. Sadly work has discontinued this program.

My daughter has boots like that (Redwings). She uses the tips of her shoes to help her lift heavy things over thresholds and stuff and I got tired of replacing her shoes because the toes kept wearing out. :o)

The most comfortable pair of boots I had was my Matterhorn boots. They were Insulated , waterproof , had not only steel toes but steel tongue and steel sides. They were Coal Mine rated. I remember correctly they were about $160 but they were worth every freaking penny. I’ weighed them one day and one boot weighed 12 lb but they were comfortable and safe.
