This is exactly the sort of thing that would happen to me as a kid. It’d probably end with me just lying there for a few minutes and wondering if it was safe to get up.
Life seems to have a lot of those instant karma (thanks to John Lennon and a nod to Chithing and gantech) moments for my boys and it’s usually after doing something I’ve warned them not to do. Fortunately, they haven’t suffered more than bruises and scrapes so far. They must have inherited their stubborn streaks from their mother. I was never like that. It’s too bad those moments are unpredictable and over quickly. I could post a compilation on YouTube and get a million views.
I LOVE this strip. Just out of curiosity I started watching the “reruns”, and I love them at least as much as he first time I read them. Oh, by the way, in the Calvin universe, the rock threw itself!

Temper gets you in trouble. Calvin could learn something from Rose leaning against her tree.

That’s actually the foul, Inter-Gallactic, Ambush Stone disguised as an ordinary Earth rock. Where’s Spaceman Spiff when you need him?

When you slice a golf ball into the trees, you get a similar result. I’ve done it. One of the many reasons I gave up golf.
