    It is spelled either way. The more correct is aesthetics regardless of the Brit origin.

    OK, I surrender on the acceptability (to some people) of “aesthetic”, but I don’t see that it helps to preserve antique forms that just complicate already ridiculous English spelling. As for medical usage, unless the surgeon asks for a “haemostat”, don’t talk to me about medical usage.
