Cut or shot? She is holding her chest or stomach, I feared a slit throat.

For sure a stomach wound as panel 3 shows. I’m betting Walt cleaned their clocks before going down… If he did, Bears are very tough..

Argh….I’m going to fall off of the edge of this seat. :-)

I’m wondering.

Did she fight back? Did she damage her attacker?

If she did, its going to make it easier for Walt to find him/her.

Unbelievably fascinating. Endtown is drawn with cartoon-like characters that in any other story is likely to have a joke at the end panel, bright colors, and smiles. I’ve never seen them used to such effect here, using them to tell profound and sometimes chilling stories about human behavior, society and at times science fiction. I have to credit Aaron for flipping the script on what is expected in comics featuring funny animals.

Is Portia now a smoked Ham?Is Walt a bare Bear?Is Jake now a Rabid Rabbit?And where, in all of this, is Colonel Mustard?Inquiring minds want to know!

I wonder if Portia was going to be “Spiral Sliced”?

I’m feeling gutted here.

She was just being gutted when Walt showed up. Her butcher roasts on the fire now. Walt will make sure none escape.

If even Doc is moved to a shocked utterance by the sight and extent of Portia’s wounds, it must be very very bad, for to be sure, Doc has seen some very bad things in over the course of his career.

My guess is that she pretended to be knocked out, so they would carry her to the butchering location. A trojan pig, basically. She then popped up and unleashed hell! The wound is probably a parting gift from her would be murderers.

There aren’t that many things, that can faze the Doctor. This is definetly a deep wound, but he’s been a witness to ghastlier sights. So, what’s left to shock him must be the way it was inflicted. Is it really the butcher’s work, or has Walt’s anger mixed with the alcohol tipped him over into blind insanity…

Is he pulling her mouth open? Maybe someone else’s bitten off fingers the source of the blood?

Portia: “Tell Walt… I… I… love… roseb…”

Look at the skilled composition of each frame. They’re like camera ankles from a skilled director.

And in all of this, she still has her glasses.

She is not bleeding, she is holding something that bleeds…

The bleeding may be from the butcher’s attempt to remove Walt’s baby. Portia may have been pregnant.

Mastectomy?

All Walt has to now is follow the blood trail…

I think somebody didn’t want to be a hot dog after all…I’m (more or less) convinced Portia is the Butcher.

Portia appears to have all her legs, so they weren’t going for a shoulder or ham, but bacon is made from pork belly. Which appears to be where the wound is.

Was Portia pregnant?
