Bea, I know I’d mentioned the movie “Victor/Victoria” to you in the comments once before. If you haven’t seen it yet, please take some time with “Mr. Husbando” to watch it. Besides being a good date night movie, there’s some interesting similarities to it in this story arc!

The main difference, though, is that Ellie doesn’t realize that people see her as a guy. In the movie, Victoria (Julie Andrews) was a down-and-out female singer who posed as a gay male cross-dressing entertainer (“a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman,” as she put it) in cahoots with her friend Toddy (Robert Preston) in a scheme to scam the 1930’s Paris entertainment world.
