“The show”. Boy that dates Schulz. My mother (b. 1924) always spoke of “going to the show.” We went to the movies in the seventies. Then I moved to Europe. My British boss of a certain age went to “the pictures.” The rest of us go to the cinema.
When I was a kid, we would have LOVED to go to the show. But we were so poor, all we had was an old burned-out Philco TV set. We’d stare at it for hours. We were happy to have it, too.
