I just got my first smart phone a couple weeks ago. I ignore it every bit as much as my old phone. I have a unique ring tone for my wife and another unique ring tone that I assigned to my contacts. Everyone else gets the default ringtone. If I hear the default ringtone, I ignore it. I have voicemail. But then again, I get two or three calls a day.

Meditation needs clean separation from the normal world. A phone doesn’t cut it.
